I just don't know why MLO doesn't get noticed far more by online reviewers.  If anyone spots a review, please post a link in this thread.

Meanwhile, I've added a comment to this roundup of apps, to let them know I think MLO deserves a pace on their GTD apps list:

Thanks for raising your concerns in the matter. We know about this blog post and it would be really great if it mentioned MLO.
We need your help there for sure! The more comments, the more chances to be noticed. Hope the result will be not long in coming.

Not only professional reviewers, the discussion among ordinary users become less too. I don't familiar with the situation in English world, but in China, MLO used to be attracted a lot of attention, look at these historic site:

A blog post to introduce mlo in 2007
http://www.mifengtd.cn/articles/mylife-organized-gtd-handbook-1.html
A dedicated mlo forum
http://bbs.hi-gtd.com/forum.php
A dedicated mlo blog
http://www.mlocn.com/

However since 2014(?), fewer and fewer netizens seem to be concerned with mlo. Until now 2017, I almost cannot find discussions of mlo in chinese, result in that have to be forced to come here and use the unskilled non-native language to ask helps and learn tips…my gosh

I'm wondering, too.
There is no point, in which Omnifocus is better than MLO;  MLO can do everything Omnifocus does - and much more. But you still read much about Omnifocus and almost nothing about MLO.
And on windows/android I see nothing like MLO - I searched long for a good Taskmanager/GTD-tool until I found MLO. Every other system is lacking at least at one important point, only MLO has all features I wanted. And some features I didn't know I wanted them until I tested them on MLO :-)

I posted this to Andrey in the beta forum, but apps like OmniFocus charge a lot of money and use a good portion of that to market themselves. OmniFocus did and does sponsor a very wide variety of tech related things. There’s a lot of trickle down into people aspiring to be like those they sponsor from there. They were aided by being a part of the GTD boom that happened online among tech folks, but more money going into marketing is the main reason. You see the same pattern with all of the apps that really take off and maintain themselves like that.

The people that get really into OmniFocus—in addition to being Mac-centric—tend to use a lot of automation scripts and other things with it that I personally have never seen used productively. That’s about the only thing it’d really have going for it over MLO in my eyes. There’s attachment support I guess for images, but I don’t imagine people would compare the two programs and chose one over the other based on that feature. On iOS, they might support TextExpander too.

I’ve always thought of MLO as the more sophisticated version of OmniFocus that was more flexible and had a Windows client, which I say as someone that’s now iOS centric. It’s also a lot cheaper, though I’d have paid as much for MLO as people pay for OmniFocus’s apps across the different platforms.

I think the solution to this would be to convert MLO to a subscription-based service which would provide Andrey with more revenue to put into marketing and development. I whole-heartedly believe that until that happens, MLO will never be as popular or well-known. Andrey is spread too thin. He needs more developers and more revenue. I want to see MLO everywhere just like Todoist is on every platform but he needs to bring in more revenue to do that IMO.There are people who won't want to see that but that really is why MLO is largely unheard of.

As I'm a partial Todoist user myself, I was on Todoist's Reddit board a couple weeks ago and someone who was unhappy with Todoist was asking the forum for referrals to other software out there that had start dates, dependencies and such. I mentioned MyLifeOrganized and gave him the website and his response was, "Okay, never heard of MyLifeOrganized." At the same time, once he realizes that MLO is not on every platform, doesn't have a Chrome extension to save passwords, doesn't have a Gmail extension, he'll probably just stick with Todoist because he loves the "everywhere" experience. Would love to see that happen to MLO.

It's really a,"If you build it, they will come", but he needs the revenue to get that ball rolling.

As a side note, I know it wouldn't be as feature-rich as the desktop software but I personally would love to see what Andrey could do with MLO as a web-based app.

When I mentioned that some people will realize that MLO doesn't have a Chrome extension to save passwords, I meant to write 'website addresses', not passwords.
