I posted this before, but it doesn't show up, sorry if this turns up as a double ...

I've been using MLO for a few weeks now and all worked very well up to now. Today I noticed several tasks that had the beginning of their description suddenly missing: Instead of "Arbeitsbezogene Projekte & Aktionen" it suddenly read "sbezogene Projekte & Aktionen". Some shorter tasks had no description left at all. I corrected the task descriptions where I noticed this, but it happened again -- to me, it seems to happen after syncing. I'm currently using MLO Professional Edition on Windows (5.0.4) on two PCs and MLO for Android on my phone, all syncing over cloud.

I desperately hope you can help me -- I was so glad I finally found a GTD software that really suits my needs and even offers a desktop client, it's very frustrating now to see data corruption issues.

Thanks a lot!
Jost

That sounds strange. You must have some kind of corruption to the file, or to the synch data so that it overwrites new items with old. I’d be tempted to reset things:
save a backup copy of your file after corrections,
maybe also export to xml and then open it in a text editor to see if you can spot an error in the pattern of information and tags,
reinstall MLO,
delete the synch copy Of your data file,
start MLO and open your backup file,
save and re-synch.

It shouldn’t happen again. In all my years of using MLO, I’ve only had to recover from a corrupted file once.

Thanks a lot, Stéphane, that sounds reasonable. Now the corruption has not reoccurred since tuesday, so I hope for the best. Thanks again!

Keep backing up, though, until you're sure it's fixed. :-)

True, true :) This way I at least found out that MLO's automatic backup settings are absolutely fantastic!
