Hi,

I've been using MLO for a year or so personally and use the cloud sync. I am very interested in buying additional copies for work colleagues so that we can all collaborate via the Cloud service but cannot see a way to keep my personal stuff separate from the info I wish to share. Currently I have two top level tasks called "Personal" and "Work" with all my sub tasks below them, I'd obviously only like to share the "Work" task.

Thanks,

Bob.

Hi Bob, you can share one of your Cloud files with some other users, but not just certain tasks in your particular file.
So basically you should create 1 Cloud file 'Work' to share it and second Cloud file 'Personal' for internal use.

Can you open 2 files in MLO at the same time?
What about on Android?

Hi Joel,
On Android, no. But you can quickly switch by going to the MLO home page (usually by one press of the ESC button) and clicking the title bar at the to, to produce a list of available profile files.

On Windows: yes. Open the Options window from the Tools Menu. Select the Behaviour page and check the checkbox for "allow multiple instances. Close the options window and without closing MLO, use the Windows start bar to start another instance of MLO. The two instances can display different views of the same file or they could display different files.

Sorry Dwight: I tried the double instance feature but opening the same file on both instances seems to be not allowed.
Any suggestion?

Hi, Roberto. Your original request referred to opening two files, and the multiple instance feature works well for that. If your objective is to open one file in two windows, I don't have any suggestions.

I think what you want is a file that is shared with others (work), and a different file that represents the part that is not shared (home), which you would sync to a different profile.

However, I can't remember if you can sync different profiles to different cloud accounts on Android. I think you can but you might need to test. If you share the cloud account you wouldn't be able to stop others from seeing your personal file and would defeat the purpose of separating the file in the first place.

What you can do is the following ...

Have your "main file" including "Personal" and "Work" and used it as before (sync it to cload or whatsoever).

Then create a second (additional) file and sync only the branch "Work" between your "main file" and that "second" file.

That second file could then by syncronized to the cloud and shared with your co-workers.

That would at least be a work around unless we're probably getting "branch sync to cload" one day.

I would really like to sync specific branches to the cloud also.

This sounds like a great solution. I wonder, though, do you have to have the secondary file open for it to sync, or are you using the command line option in the scheduler, or am I missing something?

I have the same question.  Would be a good solution for me too.. but how to make sure the 2nd file is synced.

Have somebody tried to set up this nice way of brances sync, suggested by Eberhard? Finally scheduler and command line works for this?
