Slow after updating to 5

I have used this program all day long for years.  I just upgraded to 5 from 4.4.6 and it opened my correct file automatically.  It is so SLOW!  I mean unusable slow.  Like click on a task and go get a cup of coffee and it may stop being locked up by the time you get back.  I have had to kill it several times with task manager.  I searched the discussions and I selected all tasks and turned off all custom formatting.  I thought that fixed it b/c it let me click on about 6 things like normal before it went back to very slow.  I went in and turned the logging off.  Again next two click really fast and then I tried to pick on a different tab and it was unresponsive.  Sync automatically to the Cloud is already unchecked from problems I had before.  Wifi is off.  I don't use the other syncs.  I turned off the auto send of app crashes.
Does any one have any ideas?  I really don't want to go back to the previous version.
Thanks,
Susannah

Hi Susannah,

We are really sorry to hear that. We need some additional information to investigate the issue. Please manually send the logs to sup...@mylifeorganized.net from this folder:
C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\MyLifeOrganized\Logs

We may also need the data file from your PC. Often a bug can only be reproduced on your side.We treat all the data files provided by users very carefully, respecting your privacy. The file is deleted immediately after fixing the problem and is not saved anywhere. However, if you do not want to send your file with personal content, you can remove the personal information from it before sending not changing the structure. Please just do the following:

  • Run mlo.exe with the parameters of your file and the debugging key
    The file mlo.exe YourDataFile.ml -DebugClearDatafile

YourDataFile.ml - full path to your data file

All tasks in this file will be renamed Task # 1, Task # 2 ...

  • Save this file with a new name ("Save as ...").

IMPORTANT: check that the new test file does not have a cloud sync profile:
File-> Synhronization ...
Click [Delete], if any.
Do not sync this file to the cloud or wifi.

  • Send us this file.
Meanwhile, please return to MLO 4 and wait for an update from us.

Thank you.

I had the same problem.  It seems the performance of MLO5 is worse than MLO4 for a given number of tasks.  I had to create a new file and copy all of my uncompleted tasks into it.  Since doing this performance has been much better.  I'm concerned that it will degrade again in the future.

I've noticed that every version seems to get slower and slower also.  I'm not even able to use the phone app anymore b/c it says I have too many tasks.  I am just hopeful that they fix that issue in the near future also.  The good news is when I went back to 4 it now seems fast relative to working on 5 for half an afternoon:)  I really think though it is something running in the background.  Because it will run fast for a couple clicks and then slows to a halt.  I turned the logging off but maybe there is an auto save or something else running.  I also thought about copying everything into a new file but as long as 4 is working I don't want to take the time.
