Multiyear recurrence

Hi!  I have some task that have to recurr on the same day, but with several years between each recurrence.  For example, I have to renew my drivers license November 24th each 3 years.

In the "yearly recurrence", it can only recurr each year.  It doesn't have the option to recurr on the same day each 3 years (only the "Regenerate task" has the multiyear option.

How can I do it?

Interesting question. I was surprised to find that you are right,
there's no multiyear option. I checked how I am handling situations
like driver's license renewal. (I also have medical tests run once
every three or five years.) I found that none of them are set up as
recurring. I figured that the state will likely change the renewal
interval, the doctor will decide to increase or decrease the frequency
of tests based on my condition and based on new research. So when the
task completes, instead of marking it complete I just enter the new
due date. This is probably not much help, but it's what I've got.

Closest I can come is to generate a new task XX years after
completion. This only works if you're not early or late though ; )

So if your drivers license needs to be renewed on the 9th of Jan, 2012, 2015, 2018 and so on, there is a trick to this.
In recurring pattern, select Monthly and then Day 9 of every 36 month(s).
