How to show top level task only on a view

hi all,

is there any way to create a view that will show top level tasks only?

I wasn't able to find a field (like level) I could filter by...may be there is one, or through other fields there is a way to obtain top level tasks.

my goal is to identify top level tasks that haven't been assigned a flag yet. (flag = none)

* top level meaning highest level in the hierarchy (the parent taks) e.g. level zero.

I’m confused by this link.  Likely it’s me being stupid, but since the purpose is to clarify the process, maybe me being dumb is a good thing. Here’s the problem, as I see it:

 

1. I have MLO 4 on one tablet but not the other (still 3).  So, I figured I’d go to 4 with the second tablet.
2. I clicked on the link.
3. If I click on “this app website” (from my tablet) NOTHING HAPPENS. Dead link.
4. Still guessing (which is bad), if I click on the link “Android task manager”, part of “How do I upgrade from v3 to v4, it brings me to “Buy Pro”, but…
5. Then it says “How to buy MLO 3 Pro”.  We started with 4, but it ends in how to buy 3 Pro.

 

UNRELATED QUESTION:

1. How do I install MLO 4 beta on my second tablet?  Before, I tried the email that said “Download the latest build”, from a 6/22 14:05 email, but it brings me to a completely blank “firebase app distribution” screen. My main tablet already has it.  Why can’t I get it on my 2^nd tablet?

I’m not professing this will work, but I’d do this. Hierarchy yes, but don’t include children. Plus the advanced filter for no flag.  Alternatively, perhaps the advanced filter for “top level parent” doesn’t exist may work as well.

HI, glad you found a solution. Not sure if it's of any use but I have some automatic formatting I've created which adds an exclamation mark against any projects that are 'In Progress' and don't have any incomplete sub tasks. It enables me to see at a glance which projects are stalled ie no Next Actions. 

Rule: Is Project & Not Complete & Is In Progress & Not(Has incomplete Sub Tasks).

You could amend this to fit your flag process.
