You're absolutely right. I would hope this is not by design (lazy programming if it is) so it's bordering on a bug. Glad you're enjoying MLO. It's a great program - you won't be disappointed.

One suggestion:

I've enabled the "Project Status" column on the Outline view. I think it would be much better if this column were blank if the item were not defined as a project, and only show a status if it is defined as a project. Currently, it says "Not Started" - even for items not classified as a project. I think this would help a lot...
