Reoccur On Weekends upon Completion

How can I get a task to reoccur after its been completed but ONLY on weekends? I can get it to reoccur 1 week after completion, but not specifically on the weekend. I can also get it to recoccur on the weekends, without it being completed.

I don't think that's possible, Andrej.  Just a little too complex a set of criteria for the standard Windows recurrence pop-up.

Hi, Andrej. I agree with Stéph that this probably can’t be done.

 

I have had some success using a context called “weekend” which is open from Friday night through Sunday night and closed on all the weekdays. We could explore whether or not this would help you but a little more information is needed:

 

1. What should happen if Monday arrives and you didn’t do the task? Do you want it to remain on your active items list all week as an overdue task? Or should it vanish from the list and reappear the next weekend as overdue?

 

2. What happens if you miss the task and then the following Friday you go in to All Tasks and mark it completed? Should it show up again the next weekend, which is the next day? Or do you want it to start the following weekend? How about if it was completed on Monday?

Andrej, I'm not sure whether I do understand your request correctly. But what I'm doing for tasks that should reoccur only on weekends, I set a task to

Weekly recurrence

Recur every 1 weeks on Sunday

Lead time "2 days"

That way tasks show up during weekends, and once completed they've been pushed to next weekend.

Not sure though whether that's what you're looking for.
