hyperlinks containing bracket characters

Creating a link to a task and clicking it works fine within MLO. But if I copy the URL to any other app (try Firefox) MLO is triggered but gives a "File not found" error. In other apps like Word, the issue is with the curly brackets "{" and "}" which is not allowed as per RFC specs. Can these issues be fixed?
