I'm not sure if this is possible in MLO 3.0 and I just didn't know it and/or if it will make it into version 4 but is there a way to sort the to do list by the order in which I want to complete the tasks? When I'm in the outline, I select the dates I want to do them but when I go to the To Do list, I would like to be able to order them in the order I want to complete them instead of all the tasks for that day being in a random order. I know they can be sorted manually but that also destroys the order for all of them. I would just like to be able to manually sort actions by day. Is there currently a way to do this? If not, I would like to see something implemented for this. Perhaps using a column and indicating by a number or something.

It's unclear what you want. Currently, Control+Alt+M toggles manual sorting in ToDo view. Automatic sort is restored when you switch back from manual view.

I'd like to be able to sort each task in the order they're to be done each day in the to do list without having to switch manual sorting on and off. I would assign in the outline what days I want a task to be due but then, when I go to the to do list, sort each task for that day in order from first to last, the first task being on top.

What are your criteria for sorting? Are they not covered by the Sort option in ToDo>Filter Panel>Group & Sort>Sort?

There's not really a way or criteria for sorting. What I'm talking about here is not something that can be added to a sort filter I think. My routine is to review my outline at the end of each day and look at tasks that I want to get done the next day. I'll mark the days for that. When I move to the to do list with the new actions marked by due date in ascending order, I have my tasks grouped by days but now I want to list them manually which task I want to complete first, second, third in ascending order. It would be nice tag each action for each day perhaps with a number that would then jump that action for that day up to the top of the list for that day. I won't know how I want it sorted until I decide in what order I want to complete them. This isn't something the software will intuitively know or can be added to a filter. I have to manually list the order. I know we have the manual sort option but I was looking for something that wouldn't require me to turn manual off and on. If I forget to turn it off then, when I add any other tasks to the to do, they're added out of order from the preconfigured sort order I have (which is by due date).

If that's still not clear then don't worry about it. lol
