Cloud sync works fine on my PC's. When I run MLO 3.5.5 on MAC
Crossover and try to sync with the cloud, I get the following error
message after putting in my email and password to MLO.

Could not login to server. Server response "OLE error 80004001"

Anyone managed to get it working?

I have same error on Ubuntu Linux 10.04 + wine 1.2 + MLO 3.5.5.

Hi Andrey,

I've got the same problem, running Crossover 9.1 and MLO 3.5.5. I'm
not sure how much you know about Crossover, but it's a WINE emulator
(imitating Win32 API calls) to provide enough functionality for an app
to run. I'm wondering if for the cloud service there's some needed add-
ons that could be installed in Crossover to provide the needed DLLs/
APIs etc. so that it will work. For example, here's some "Runtime
Support Components" that can be added on to Crossover/WINE to give it
needed support. I've included a few potential ones below as a guess,
but there's a longer list that can be emailed. Maybe you can help
identify what MLO cloud sync relies on, windows system call-wise, and
I can do testing to figure out how to get it working?

Crossover HTML Engine
Flash 10 ActiveX Control
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SP1
Microsoft DirectX Runtime - Modern
Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0

Or alternatively, I'm happy to provide a paid license to MLO so you
have a fully working copy for testing.

Thanks, and can't wait for iPhone support so I can fully test the
cloud sync.

Just made some initial research. The error is related to the lack of
COM implementation for Wine:

The posts there are related to the year 2007 though. I will let you
know if I find a solution.

Andrey.

Good news, I found a workaround / solution! If you install Internet
Explorer 7 in to your bottle, one of the components it installs will
allow for MLO Cloud Sync to work. Unfortunately, I'm not sure exactly
which component it is.

I tried these packages individually, but they didn't solve the
problem:
- MS XML Parser 6.0SP1
- Windows OLE Components

Then I installed IE7. My install didn't even complete, but it
installed a suite of components before trying to install IE7. It's too
late in the eve to figure out exactly which item it was. I've got a
bunch of new TrueType fonts, 3 versions of MS XML Parser, Flash 10
ActiveX control, and CrossOver HTML engine. I'm guessing it's not a
TrueType font...
