Recently, we switched to Ubuntu 9.10 at work and, being a MLO fan and
user for about a year so far, I am now using MLO 3.5.0 Professional
with wine and stumbled across this peculiar issue:

To reproduce:
1) Enter a new task, "test rmd now", press Alt-Enter - the reminder
window pops up with the alert, as it should
2) In the reminders window, press Ctrl-O or click "Open Task" - the
main window does not pop up / is not brought to the front. Strangely
enough, the task is highlighted in the main window again and the main
window accepts keyboard input.

Suggestion:
As MLO seems to be able to bring the reminders window to the front,
could this also be done with the main window (when pressing Ctrl-O in
the reminders window)?

I think that linux users are not the primary target for MLO :), but
there seem to be more and more wine users and it runs in general
smoothly under wine. I hope other wine users can confirm this. I'd be
glad to do any testing needed or to hear about any hint on how I could
try to tweak wine or MLO settings.

Cheers and no matter whether this issue can be resolved or not, thanks
for this great program

Hi Richard,
Are you able to change the options in the Rapid Task Entry box? If so,
do you mind telling me which
version of wine you are using. Doing this locks up MLO on openSUSE
11.2 running wine-1.1.42.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

yes, I can change the options in the Rapid Task Entry dialogue, e.g.
switching "Multiple task entry ..." or "Parse input ..." on and off
and it works as expected. I'm using Wine 1.0.1.

With Wine 1.4.1, the Rapid Task Entry dialogue doesn't even show up,
the application seems to freeze immediately after calling it.

BTW, with Wine 1.4.1 (that's the most recent version I get when
using , the focus issue is still the same, pressing Ctrl-O from the
reminders window highlights the task in the main window (to do list)
and the main window accepts keyboard input, but the reminder window
still stays in the foreground. Can you confirm this? Thanks.

I have added an entry to the Wine AppDB for MLO 3.5.0, it is currently
pending and might not be visible yet.

I can confirm that Ctrl-O and clicking on Open Task doesn't not move
the main window forward.

Looks like I might be downgrading Wine if the Rapid Task Entry dialog
works in 1.0.1.

If I get some time this weekend I'll take a peek and see what is wine
is doing when it fails on these two items.

I get a similar problem with the PPC sync conflict popup on XP. Several times I've had to kill the app before realising the dialogue box is just hidden in the background.
