how do i sort by due date?

ok, i'd like to sort by due date but I get:
-12 days
in 21 days
-15 days
monday
sunday

Turns out I had some tasks with a monthly goal. I didn't realize they counted. I also figured out how to list this kind of info in the todo task bar (right click task).
MLO has a ltoo many options - that's great for flexibility but the learning curve is frustrating.
