Hello there,
(just in case: I'm not a native speaker and hope that my posts will nevertheless be readable :-)

Q: How come that MLO 2.016 forgets it PRO nature after 3 days of use? Did anybody else come across this feature?

Out of the blue, MLO gave me a dialog box with the interesting message, that the testing period would last for 42 (!) more days (photo attached).
Fortunately, this 'feature' was of temporary nature. As I had purchased Pro right away (via the MLO.net website) for the WiFi Sync I hit the sync icon on the upper left ... and indeed I was notified again, that registration would be required.

However the Synchronization settings stated that the device still was paired with my PC and after quitting settings things went back to normal, i.e. I had the Pro version back again.

On a side note: I'm using MLO Windows since some 3 years and MLO 2 Android since 3 days. So far I like what I see on my Android tablet very much although I strongly hope that FLAGs will someday be upgraded to equal the functionality on the PC version. As I'm not the only one that's missing Flags: Could the development team communicate their plan, when (or if at all) this might be improved? If Flags will never face the pixels of my tablet, I could spare the effort to maintain them on the PC version only.

Thanks and best regards from Germany
Wolfgang

In Roberto Penzo's thread "Lock profile no longer works ..."  I read that an update 2.017 is provided.

Next I discovered, that Androids app update monitoring doesn't work if the purchase was from MLO website instead of Google Play, which is a bit of an disadvantage. I browsed MLO homepage using the tablets Chrome browser and hit the download button in the MLO Andoid section that reads "Get it on Google Play". Download and update procedure went fine.

Being on version 2.017 [1] I still got the message "This is a Pro feature. Please upgrade to protect your access to it after trial expires." [2] and the app considered itself to be on day 40 of the trial period [4] while fortunately maintaining the WiFi link to my PC [3]. (Numbers in brackets refer to the attached picture).

To give the app a fair chance to sort things out I re-entered the registration code. The "Pro Trial Mode" item in the settings dialogue is now gone ... hope that was it. If troules come back, I will too :-)

Thanks for the great work and please think of the FLAGs someday ...

Regards from Germany
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

Could you please confirm the following:
1. After purchasing MLO-Android v3 Activation Code you entered it to MLO and you have seen "Thank you for registering" message in the registration dialog.
2. After some time you installed an update for the app and the registration gone? Is it correct? Are you sure you entered the activation code initially and it is gone switching to the TRIAL mode again?
3. If an Activation Code was NOT entered all PRO features may show warning message once per day. This is normal. If you entered an Activation Code you should not see these messages and your PRO registration should not be removed after an update. If you see this please report to support for us to analyze and fix this issue.

There was a bug with PIN code protection dialog which expired even for PRO version and we fixed it in 2.0.17.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The update notification should work if you downloaded MLO from the site. The new version is checked once per day.

Andrey.

P.S. Yes the flags are in nearest plans for Android and iOS.

Hi Andrey,
I'll try to assist as good as I can ...

Re 1. '... you have seen "Thank you for registering" message ...'
Not sure about that, yet I clearly remember, that it took 3 attempts until the entered code finally was accepted. Rejection occured, because I tried to move the code from the PC (where I received the email with the code) to the Tablet via a txt file. This failed due to text-code standards, I suppose. Only after I forwarded the code message to a separate email account and accessed it with the Tablet this way, it worked. (I keep my Google/Android account separate from my regular private stuff as good as possible. Therefore I'm used to hazzle of that kind.) The rejection experience before registration can be taken as an indication that registration was to the apps convenience.

And as I had stated in my first post: Pro Trial doesn't allow to link the Tablet and the PC via WiFi. That is the only reason why I purchased MLO Android right away. I didn't want to just play around with an empty or MLO database file for testing. WiFi link worked after 'registration', which is the second indication for havng registered successfuly.

I used v 2.016 at that time.

Re 2. 'After some time you installed an update for the app and the registration gone? ...'
Yes and No.

For the 'No': The app v. 2.016 went into Trial Mode on the third day of use, yet only temporarily. This was the reason for my initial post in this thread, where I describe the occurence in some detail. The attached photo shows a "42 days left" dialog, which indicates, that the two days of already registered use somehow were added to the regular 40 day testing period ... just a guess.
BTW. I did noth confirm that dialogue box (neither "Buy Pro Now" nor 'Continue FREE') but hit Androids back arrow button instead and checked the WiFi link (my feature of interest) which still worked. I could continue without being bothered again.

For the 'Yes': As stated in my second post, I installed v. 2.017 and got the Trial Mode statements right away while funny enough, WiFi link still worked. (which it should do in real Trial Mode, right?)
After entering the registration code again, settings showed registration to my user name. Things run just fine since then ...

Re. 3. '... If you entered an Activation Code you should not see these messages ...'
That's what I thought ... my experience is somewhat 'grey', though. I'm afraid, this would take more feedbacks from other users, which is why I did the post in the first place. If I face any problems of that kind again, I'll report.

Thanks a lot (also for the future-flags :-)
Wolfgang
