Greetings All,

For some reason, at some point, my Windows Mobile phone-- using the
same (confirmed) wifi connection it always has, won't sync. Instead I
get a "Server not found" error message. I've tried re-loading the app
on the phone, while the Desktop syncs all work as expected.

Cheers

Update...

I've tried several reinstalls, and I've managed to get several other
error messages when trying to update the file sync selection drop
menu, but as it stands it's going nowhere fast. I even considered
switching back to Activesync just to see if I could get a working file
onto the phone, but shortly thereafter remembered how painful
Activesync was, and the reason I switched over to using the Cloudsync
in the first place.

At this point I simply don't have the time to try and get MLO working
on the phone, which is disappointing since I've been using it both on
the phone and the PC since v1.0. I'm holding out for a 4.0 release at
some point in the future, with the hopes that it will address whatever
underlying issue is giving me grief with the PPC build.

Hello
Can you please verify if your Mobile phone has Internet access?

Can you browse this page via your Mobile device:

?

Affirmative. I get the login page as expected... no hiccups, no
delays.
Confirmed that my password still works, so no issues there...

That is strange since MLO Cloud sync works fine on my side.
can you please let me know if:
1) MLO is installed to the main memory of the device
2) MLO files are also created in the main memory
3) did Cloud sync ever work on this device? if yes -after what updates Cloud sync stopped working
4) any other details that might help to debug the issue.

Thank you!

Hey Alexandra,

1) MLO is installed to the main memory of the device.
It's installed to the main memory. With previous phones space was a
premium, but the current phone that I've been using for the last
couple years doesn't have this problem.
2) MLO files are also created in the main memory.
MLO files are all created in the main memory, to speed things up and
keep things simple. For what it's worth, I do get a 'File Already
Exists' error when trying to use the 'Save As...' option, even though
the name of the file is distinct.
3) did Cloud sync ever work on this device? if yes -after what updates
Cloud sync stopped working
Cloud sync has been working on the same device for the last year and a
half. I don't recall that I did an update, it just started acting odd
by requiring that I select the 'Synchronize' button 2x before it
would actually connect on the second attempt, then more recently it
stopped syncing altogether. I've tried reinstalling several times,
clearing out all the MLO registry information after an uninstall with
saved settings failed to have any effect.
Generally speaking it feels like something has gotten gummed up in
some registry or .ini file that's affecting operations... though I
have no way to confirm or deny. As mentioned previously, connectivity
is not an issue, nor are login credentials... It's almost like
something on the back end of MLO PPC Sync services have been corrupt
and need clearing out to set things right.

Here's hoping this might provide some insight!

4) any other details that might help to debug the issue.
See #3.

Can you please try to create a completely new small file on your device and create a completely new sync profile on Cloud. Please sync you small file to newly created Cloud file.

Does it work with new data?

Alexandra,

I created the small file on the device, created a completely new sync profile on the Cloud, but I continue to get the same "server not found" error".

Interestingly, if I'm connected via Activesync (which can also successfully access the internet) I get either a "(connection refused)" or 'cannot create file, file already exists' error, depending on how cooperative Activesync is behaving that day. More often then not I'll get the cannot create file error-- although for the life of me I can't reproduce it on demand.

Are there some temp files that may need to be flushed to allow a successful sync?

I had given up on trying to make this work until the release of 4.0, but something came up this weekend where it would have been extremely helpful to have had my List....

Otherwise throwing everything I've got at it....

Best Regards

Hello
Please follow the instruction below. If sync still doesn't work, please send log files (see #11).

Q: MLO-PocketPC does not sync correctly with MLO-Desktop using ActiveSync.
A:
1) Create new MLO data file on your PocketPC and re-create MLO sync pair in MLO Windows Mobile Sync manager on desktop
2) Soft reset your device
3) If it does not help try to reinstall MLO on PocketPC and on desktop
4) If it does not help try to reinstall ActiveSync (Windows Mobile Device Center) on your desktop.

Q: On MLO-PocketPC I have errors like "unable to create a connection" or "error updating the item"
A:
1) Make sure that application and data file installed to main memory on your device
2) Create new file on MLO-PocketPC and re-create MLO sync pair in MLO Windows Mobile Sync manager on desktop
3) Soft reset your device

If all above does not help then it seems there are some security issues or other software on your device
preventing MLO to run correctly with SQLCE database format. You can try to switch MLO-PocketPC to alternative SQLite database format:

1. Download this Windows application:
http://mylifeorganized.net/downloads/files/MLOTweaker.zip
2. Cradle your device
3. Unzip and run MLOTweaker.exe on your Desktop
4. In PocketPC UI section UNCHECK
Enable SQLCE database
In PocketPC UI section CHECK
Enable SQLite database
5. Uncradle device and restart it.
6. Create new data file on our device
7. Delete existing sync pair and create new sync pair to this new file.
8. Sync.

Q: I have installed MLO-PocketPC to Main Memory but I still have a problem. How can I report it?
A: Please get a copy of MLO Tweaker application from http://www.mylifeorganized.net/downloads/files/MLOTweaker.zip
and follow these instructions:
1. Cradle the PDA
2. Launch the tweaker
3. Navigate to Troubleshooting / Debugging item in the tree view
4. Make sure all logging check boxes are checked.
5. Close the tweaker
6. Do a soft reset of the PDA for the changes to take effect
7. Cradle the PDA
8. Do the steps to reproduce the issue
9. Launch MLO Tweaker
10. Use "Save all logs to..." button in mlo tweaker to copy log files from device to desktop computer
11. Zip the copied log files and send them to support att mylifeorganized dot net for an investigation.
