I cannot seem to figure out how to apply this product.  I have the "Outline" page set up with data.  That seemed to generate the "ToDo" list spreadsheet.

I want to generate individual spreadsheets for each respective project.

My use is that I have multiple client projects to track.  Say 20.

I to be able to track them on individual pages, but can't figure out how to do it.

I have tried to read the manual and can't figure it out.

I am 55 years old and have been working with computers for 30 years, but can't master this MLO.

Any suggestions.  HELP---------------------------------------------

Hello John,

I'm also new to MLO, but I'm going to tell you how I use it:
For every project that I create, I assign a context to the tasks in it.
Then I add a new tab, and I create a new view associated to this tab. And this new view displays all the tasks of the given context.
See what I mean ?
Tell me if it's not clear and I'll try to explain better. I'm not native english to it's sometimes complicated :)
And I guess there are other ways to do what you want to do.
Other may explain you how they do.

Regards,
Veran

have a similar need and I use Projects and Filters rather than contexts.

My instructions are step-by-step: please don't be put off by the number of steps. It will only take 2 minutes.

If you have, for example, ProjectA set up in MLO as a project (make sure the "Project" box is ticked in the Project parameters on the right column) then this is what I would do:

1. Add a new tab (click the '+' at the right of the tabs)
2. Immediately name it (Project A)
3. Don't sync (leave the check boxes for syncing un-checked)
4. Expand the 'Filter' options from the left hand column (at the bottom under views)
5. You will see all the filter options listed. The one you want is 'advanced'
6. Click advanced and then "setup"
7. "Add Rule"
8. Choose "ProjectName" from the first drop down
9. Choose "Contains" or "Is" from the second
10. Type "ProjectA" in the final box
11. Click OK
12. Optional: Click the "Zoom-in" icon from the taskbar (to the right of the sync button). This will make it 'hide' the top level (parent tasks of the project)
13. Optional: Right click the tab name and "Set As Default For This Tab". This means that if you make changes to the layout by accident you can restore back to this view.

Good luck

Hello Steve,

I did as you said, but when I added a new task in the workspace, it immediately disappeared.

So I right clicked and chose "add a new project", and named it "Project A" (as I had set up in the settings), but it also disappeared...
Any idea why ?

Thank you.

Steve: I was about to write an answer to John, but you seem to have covered it very nicely.

Just one comment, if the tasks you want in a particular view are all in a single project or folder and you zoom in to that project or folder, I don't think you need the filter on ProjectName. The advantages of eliminating the filter (and just using Zoom) are (1) it's a little simpler to set up, and (2) less chance of enciuntering the disappearing task Veran reported. Is there an advantage of the filter that I'm missing?

Hi, Veran.
Adding new tasks in a filtered view is tricky. Two suggestions:

- Go to the "All Tasks" or "outline" view. Add your new task(s) there. Make sure they end up under the correct project. Then go back to the project view and you should see them.

Or

-Take Steve's suggestion to zoom in, but leave off the ProjectName filter. A zoomed, unfiltered view wirks well for adding new tasks.
