When I try to set up my Email Account and do a test
I receive this message

I definitely have the correct information for:
SMTP Server, Port, User Name and Password

Any suggestions?

I've tried: comcast, gmail and yahoo

Could not send e-mail. Error: EIdConnClosedGracefully:
Connection Closed Gracefully. Please check SMTP server
configuration. Note that only SMTP server supported by MLO.

For example:
Comcast is:
SMTP Server: smtp.comcast.net
Port:  465

any thoughts?

Hi, pttravis.

I don’t know much about this but I thought I would share the one idea that I do have. Let’s hope that someone who actually knows about this stuff can give you a better answer

I’m not sure but I think that port 465 is for encrypted (SSL or TLS or something like that) access to an SMTP server. I think I remember that the port number 25 is for unencrypted SMTP. I don’t know whether or not MLO encrypts its SMTP accesses, but if it doesn’t it may need you to use port 25. On the other hand, many Internet companies have blocked unencrypted email ports because they are too frequently used for spam, so you would have to check with your internet companies to see about this.

Yup - Comcast blocks port 25
but good thought

what email service is everyone else using that works?
I'd be willing to get another email address somewhere

Hello everyone.

I have an SMTP server that accepts mail without authentication, running on port 25. I get the same error.

Yet the test email goes through fine. Until this gets fixed in the next update, I've come up with a workaround.

I've setup PFTB utility to click "ok" on the error popup. Works great as a workaround. Every time the popup shows, it takes no more than a second and it clicks the popup for you.

I'd like to be informed when this gets fixed.

Regards,

Marc
