I have suggestions for this potentially very powerful tool:
1. Small to large rewards could be built into a schedule that can be tailored to the individual. These can be set daily to yearly, can be as simple as a piece of chocolate or as extravagant as a trip to Europe but need to be target dated.
2. I will be using something called the "Pocket Tracker" to help me stay focused. It uses an activity differentiated point system to help me find my weaknesses and show me when I am on the success track.
3. Accountability partners could find each other through the My Life Community through facilitating and setting parameters for these connections. This could be useful for help with using the application as well as motivation.
4. A wrist band to help MLO users find each other. It would also serve to remind us of our commitments to ourselves. Great PR for MLO!
5. A template we could measure our activities against that would show us how balanced and healthy our lives are. Vitality and motivation depends on enthusiasm and stamina.
6. The most difficult time for me is the beginning. I tend to bog down in the transition period. If we could come up with a way to begin each task so their seems to be a natural flow to our activities, eventually, positive habitual behavior would take over. I'm not sure what would help me in this area but it's my greatest stumbling block and I'm probably not alone. Sometimes merely placing my body and attention where I need to be for the activity is enough to begin. A simple thing to do and not to do, as well. I would like to hear some suggestions in this area.
How do we live spontaneous, exciting lives and develop the discipline to achieve our goals? For, without the discipline none of this is sustainable.
