is there a keyboard shortcut to mark a project "in progress"?

Ideally, I'd like the projects to be "in progress" by default.

But this is not the case presently.

As a workaround, is there a keyboard shortcut to make them "in progress" easily?

Olivier, I'm not aware of any implemented hotkey for that. I'm usign AHK scripts for things like that.

In my opinion, we should have user-defined default settings.  At the moment, you have to take two mouse actions to set up an item as a project.  First you have to select project (or Alt-J), then you have to click on status.  Ideally, I'd want a project with no completed actions to default to "not started", Switch to "in progress" as soon as I start checking off actions and then "completed" whenever I check off the project itself. If I make it suspended at any point, it should go back to "in progress" once I start checking actions off again.  The  more automation and the fewer clicks, the better.

On uservoice, the developer replied that We do have hotkey to toggle project status. By default it is Ctrl+Shift+P
You can change it in settings.
Uh.... I forgot it :)) I remember that i used it before.

That shortcut key just toggles "IsProject" on and off, It doesn't allow us to set the project status to "In progress", "suspended", etc.  The actual project status stays blank.

It does exist.
Mine is :
Alt+J = toggle ''is project''
Ctr+Alt+J = switch project status.
