Having just installed MLO2 on my iPhone and sync'd with my Windows desktop and I am not seeing all Active Actions in the To-Do list on the iPhone.

Only a small number of Active Actions are displayed on the iPhone. 16 in total compared to the 67 shown on the Windows version. All the tasks are shown correctly in both versions, just most Active Actions are missing on the iPhone version. However all Due Actions are correctly shown on the iPhone version as on the Windows version. If a new task is created on the iPhone it does not appear in Active Actions, however when Sync'd to Windows it does correctly appear under Active Actions on Windows.

My impression is that the iPhone version is processing the "Active" status of a task in the MLO data file differently to the Windows version. One common point is that it appears to be only certain contexts. Home, Office, PRN. Though the MLO2 "Contexts and Locations" is unmodified and all are set to display in To-Do list.

Solved my own problem. Creating a new task with a context of @Office on the iPhone, the other 67 @Office tasks appeared, along with @Errand and @5 PRN tasks.

Suggests that on first install in some circumstances the iPhone version requires a task to be created with a context on the iPhone before it will show all the tasks synchronised by Wifi from Windows.

Problem back again. This time @Home is now also displayed, leaving just @Office and @5 PRN tasks undisplayed. No filters set in the iPhone ToDo Display By Context.

To-Do Active Actions, also does not display tasks belonging to the two same contexts above. A data issue?

Steve,

Do you have open/closed hours configured for contexts on your desktop? Please make sure the contexts, assigned to the active tasks you want to see, are open in the current moment.

MLO-iPhone does not show task as active if there is a closed context assigned to it.
MLO-Desktop has an option to show/hide active tasks with closed contexts assigned. This is probably why you see these tasks on desktop and not on iPhone.

If you still have problems with displaying Active tasks on desktop/iphone - please send on our support email an example of your desktop data file (*.ml) with exact steps (what you see and what you expect) so that we can reproduce the issue.

Andrey.

Thanks Andrey, that solved the problem. Closed hours on some contexts on the Windows version.

There were blocks of closed hours for the default contexts, whereas the contexts I had created defaulted to all all open hours. Fine on Windows as the context selection for the To-Do list views are set to "Include Closed". A powerful feature, though unintuitive for those less familiar with MLO when the iPhone version does not support the same functionality as the desktop version and hence behaves differently. Changes that might help are updating the Context Filter on To-Do list views tick box for "Include Closed" to be "Include Closed Hours" to make the function more obvious. Also an option on the iPhone defaulting to "Include Closed Hours" on the To-Do list.

Andrey, MLO/Android has a setting to include closed contexts. I use it two to three times per week. Are you indicating that mlo/iphone will not have this option? Without this option I d would have to change all of my contexts to "always open"

"Include closed" option implemented on MLO-Android and MLO-iPhone v1 as global setting for MLO app.
Once we create custom views for MLO-iPhone v2 and MLO-Android (both in development now) we will move this setting for each view as it is now on Desktop. So you will be able to create views which consider or do not consider open/closed hours for context while building views. I.e. this option will be changed for individual view not for the entire app.

I am also battling with a context having open and closed hours on the iPhone.

I have no issues with the Windows Desktop version when it comes to the open and closed hours for contexts, works perfectly. But when I cloud sync with the iPhone it shows all manner of "closed" tasks in terms of times allocated to a context.

What am I missing ?

Thanks,

Jeremy.

The MLO V2 for iPhone does not currently have a view option to show Contexts that are closed at the current time. According to Andrey this option will be added in the MLO2 update. The work around for the moment is to make Contexts open at all times on Windows desktop and this will flow through to MLO2 on the iPhone.
