MLO 6: Dashboard layouts

I like what I can do here. However, it is an odd constraint that I can add rows of views, but not columns. So if I want a two-across top row with a one-across bottom row I can do that, but if I want a vertical layout where the left side is one view and the right side is one view above another, that's not (as far as I can tell) possible. Would love to see this be more flexible in that regard.

Also, it would be really useful to be able to change which columns are shown in a view only for the dashboard (without it affecting the way that view is shown in the main UI), because the dashboards have limited space and I want to remove everything except what is vital, but I don't want to create another entire copy of every view just to use in the main interface with more columns shown.

While using the Dashboards....

IMHO this is a fantastic feature - however this is not a "Dashboard", but the potential is different:

- it should be the default for the main viewing canvas

- it should be better integrated / reachable by the toolbar

- the switching between various dashboard should be implemented by a combo-box on the toolbar

and then this would be a huge step forward in the usability of MLO to get better overview and insights - while getting things done.

PLEASE :) - consider this. 

It should be easy to implement based on what is already there.

Else as always - best software ever for the purpose of getting M-L-O ;).

To MLO devs,: Anytime something is set to "default" please make sure there is a toggle available so that another available option can be set as default unless setting it breaks something. 
If dashboard is the default view, then there should be a toggle / option to set the current view being shipped also as a default view. Let the user decide. One of the main strengths of MLO is the ability for user to customize the application and use keyboard shortcuts. Hope that doesn't go away ever. Really prefer not to have to deal with the Apple / iPhone way (has its strengths) of doing things. There are newer applications that don't have a save/apply/ok button that gives the user feedback that the change is saved/applied. Hope we never go that route. 

When Windows 8 rolled out, if only they gave the option to set traditional desktop as the default home screen / desktop when windows booted instead of forcing everybody to go to the Tile interface, Windows 8 would've had much better success especially since that version had one of the best Tablet interfaces ever.
