Hi ALL,

After the final release of version 1.9 I plan to create a video
tutorial for MLO.

1) Tutorial plan
I would create three separated presentation (5-10 min each):
1. MLO - Basics
2. MLO - Advanced (based on some template? include PocketPC?)
3. MLO - Collaboration

Do you like the idea? Do you have any ideas what details (features)
could be added to each section?

2) Video capturing tools
Please let me know if you can suggest good capturing tools (FREE or
commercial). I am evaluating
HyperCam at the moment http://www.hyperionics.com.
Requirements: video and sound should be recorded.

3) Presenter
I am not a native speaker so we need a hero! :) Let me know if you are
willing to help to create this presentation. We will finalize the plan
and presenter should record the video with voice comments.

We could even create a few different versions with different people
and I will ask the community to select the best one :)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Andrey,

Hi Andrey,

It's a fantastic idea, so right off the bat, I'd like to put in my
suggestions on the Collaboration section, my pet project at the moment:

1. How to set up a new sync. Branch or all tasks.
2. How to sync via FTP.
3. What happens when you sync. Highlight advanced options such as
bydirectional, one way sync, importing/exporting of sync setups
4. Conflict resolution when synching.
5. An example of a collaborative in an office set up to illustrate all the
steps above.

I also think a separate section could be a good idea to address the
following 2 features, only because a huge amount of discussion has been
generated by these issues in the group (purely in my observation), viz (a)
how the importance/urgency scores interact to position the task in the to-do
list, and (b)how to perform an Outlook sync.

I look forward to reading suggestions in this thread and how things
progress. Cheers

Hi,

Is it a very good idea.

For point 3) Presenter, you can use NaturalReader 2007 with natural
voice. In English the voices are very nice.

Two leading free ones are CamStudio http://www.camstudio.org/ and Wink
http://www.debugmode.com/wink/, CamTasia is a well known commercial
app but way more expensive than HyperCam.

Andrey,

For a capture tool on PPC, try this product. I use it primarily for
remote control, so I can enter text into my PPC from my desktop
keyboard, but it can also capture both stills and video (however it's
not real cheap):

Hello Audrey,

I was wondering if you had finally created the videos...
I think it was a very good idea, and I'm actually looking for tutorials on MLO.
I think it's a great software, but I'm sure I'm not using at 100%.

Please tell me if you still need help.

Regards,
Veran

Hi Veran,

Unfortunately we still did not finalize the video tutorial. Yes I understand the importance of it. It is still in plans.

Andrey.
