Hello.. I checked for a while to see if I could find this answer in this group, but with no luck... so here is my question.

In Options > Behavior. I have "Inherit contexts from new parent" set.

In my OUTLINE view I have a few folders set up, each with a different context. In OUTLINE view I can drap and drop a task to a different folder and the context of that task will update to the parent folder it was dropped into. Excellent!

In TO DO view I have almost the same setup where I have the folders grouped and I can drap and drop tasks between the folders. The problem is in this TO DO view the contexts do not update to the parent folder as they do in the OUTLINE view. Not so excellent :(

How can I have the context update to the new parent folder?

Thanks!

Hi, Osaga. In order to answer this I would need to know more about your to-do view. Is it a view with just the folders showing? You mention dropping "between" the folders as opposed to "into" the folders, so I don't know if the dropped tasks are actually going into one of the folders or not. Does your view include hierarchy? parent or child?

it might be best if you could send a series of screenshots showing your view and what happens when you drop a task. Or, produce a test profile that contains a view where this problem happens and send it in with instructions for how to create the problem.

When I create a view in my test profile that shows only folders plus the hierarchy below each folder, and I drop a task onto one of the folders, as long as I have tools>options>behaviour>advanced>default set to "inherit" then the task inherits contexts from the folder where it was dropped.
