Job Description: SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA (On-site/Hybrid)(Local candidate only)

Key Requirement: Expert Python Coding Skills

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SDET with a strong background in Python-based automation to join our engineering team in Sunnyvale. The ideal candidate is not just a tester, but a developer focused on quality, capable of building robust automation frameworks from scratch. While Java knowledge is preferred, heavy hands-on Python coding is the primary requirement for this role.

Technical Core Competencies

  • Primary Scripting: Expert-level Python coding (Must be able to pass a live coding challenge).

  • Secondary Scripting: Proficiency in Java for existing framework maintenance.

  • Web Automation: Advanced experience with Selenium WebDriver.

  • API Testing: Extensive experience in API Automation (RestAssured, PyTest, or similar libraries).

  • Frameworks: Deep understanding of BDD (Behavior Driven Development) using Cucumber or Behave.

  • DevOps: Hands-on experience with CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & Maintain Frameworks: Design, develop, and execute automated test suites using Python and Selenium to ensure software quality.

  • API Validation: Build and automate comprehensive test cases for backend services and APIs.

  • Continuous Integration: Integrate automated suites into the CI/CD pipeline to support continuous deployment and rapid feedback loops.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers and product managers in an Agile/Scrum environment to define test strategies and acceptance criteria (BDD).

  • Code Reviews: Participate in peer code reviews for both application code and test automation scripts.
