Hi Veera
Request clarification on these items from the EO.
1. Bye-law Section 14.7: All contestants
should disclose their citizenship of India or any foreign country. The Election
Officer/Committee shall enable this and the Management Committee should assist
them as needed in this regard.
However, this was not followed by the EO at present. Voters should know the citizenship of every contestant along with final contestant list. Please request an explanation.
2. Bye-law Section 16.2.1 states: All members
should select the mode in which they would like to be contacted for electoral
campaigning. Such contact details should be shared equally to electoral
nominees.
Some contestants are from previous MC, who have privilege access to owners contact details such as emails and phone numbers. This bye-law amendment was made to provide fair chance to all contestants. However, this has not been followed. In the worst case, can all ex-MC members declare in writing that they did not use any email of phone number from association office to canvas or to obtain proxies? This has to be given in writing and submitted to EO and a copy be filed in the association office.
3. There was some confusion on ballot numbers. A number has been allocated after nomination to each candidate. But the ballot number is different. This is confusing the contestants in canvassing. Please provide a written clarification from EO and publish to all.
4. Point no 8 of Election Notification states that proxies should be submitted along with ID&signature proof of member. Here 'member' refers to 'issuer of proxy' or 'taker of proxy'. Also, what are all the valid IDs? This is clause is not clear and is open to subjective interpretation. Please issue clarification ASAP.
Request please have these addressed ASAP as these issues should not have been there in the first place.
Best regards
Vamsi Krishna
