We've had two reports come in that an error occurs after installing
the file@home software and in both instances the software fails to
start.

We're not quite sure what's going on with the installer as this hasn't
really changed from v1. Anyway, we've pinpointed the problem, a file
isn't being registered properly.

If you're experiencing this problem, then the simple fix is to
download and run this hotfix "http://www.myhomefiling.com/download/
hotfix.cmd". Save it to your desktop then run it (on Vista and
Windows 7 you may receive a UAC warning - allow the file to run).
When you run it, you should see an old style MS-DOS box then a message
box. Click OK on the message box and file@home will be working
properly again.

We'll post updates as soon as we know why this is happening.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

P.S. If this doesn't fix your problem, contact
