Filtering events in the current year?

Hi,

Sorry, but I couldn't find any answer on this topic so far:

I would like to filter events within the current YEAR not just monthly. So far I can filter events for every month but this doesn't give me a good overview in my opinion. It looks to me as if I need to flick from one month to the next in order to see my filtered category events.

Have I missed a setting somewhere or is it really only possible to view the filter results in month-wise steps?

To make it more clear: I am not looking for an entire year view of the calendar. Just a filter summary of events from an entire year.
