Hello eventON-ners!

I have finally got time to update eventON with new features and I wanted to create this topic to keep you all informed of what features and parts will be added as I do them. Maybe some sneakpeaks... and maybe I could get quick feedbacks from you-all so we can make eventON ver 2.2 a huge success.

Right now working on language customization, adding 3 letter month, and 3 letter day name customization. It will also include POT file for translation with this version.
I am looking for suggestions and thoughts on how we could have 2 different languages to select from for calendar text.

Sneak peak of the new shortcode generator -- this will make it easy for lot of the users to add shortcodes and correctly.

The picture implies that the admin has to chose the default language, when its the user that should be allowed to chose from installed languages on the front end...unless Im misinterpreting or dont see enough of the picture to know thats what youre already doing?

Suggestion: Offer free unlimited free add-ons for people who volunteer to do translations for you. The translations could then be made available with the core product...and the cal would probably end up with several language interfaces...

Let me be a bit more clear: Using a short-code to determine the language seems like the admin would be hard coding the cals user interface for a specific language.

The user should be able to select the language to display the cal in on the front end.

If Im in spain and looking at a cal...and I speak english...I should be able to select a dropdown that says "English." Hard-coding a cal to a specific language limits the cal...and I want my users to be able to read the interface by selecting his/er native language :)

Thanks for the suggestions Erik. That makes sense. its not fully implemented, I am still trying to find the best way to present this.

Just like you said, I could allow front-end language selection and be able to write your own custom language text on backend for multiple languages because some of those text could be changed to mean something other than what it originally mean for customization. But we still will need the shortcode based cal language.

Thats true and when I wrote that, it was from my own prospective. I was in Spain/Ibiza about a week ago and showed the owner of Ushuaia (one of the most popular clubs in a destination full of world reknown clubs) what I was working on. His immediate question was "can the interface be translated into Spanish?"

Which makes sense because the internet makes the world VERY small and people speak different languages :)

That said, I can also see scenarios in which the admin wants to publish the cal in language "x".

Ultimately, it might be best to do it both ways to ensure adoption from people in all regions and put something like "we're looking for translators - get your eventOn calender and all plugins for 50% off" or something on that on the envato page to attract people to get it i many languages. I'm sure you'd get a LOT of volunteers...

Keep it up man...def the best cal out there by far...

Newest addition: Hiddable meta boxes for event edit page that memorize which ones were hidden and keep them hide on next time.

FYI: New license verification server is in full effect now running on myeventon server. This system will verify your license code for the first time using envato API -- if license is validated, that point forward we will be able to use this new system to verify license key for auto updates to eventON and avoid all the errors everyone one was getting when trying to activate license due to overload on envato purchase verifier API.

Hoorah!

Hi there,

Just simple question, how can I update this plugin? Download again from codecanyon?

Thanks.

Any chance of getting an RSS feed of events built into the newest version? I've been looking into how to do this myself, but having it built in would be awesome (and a LOT easier).

Thanks!

FYI

– EventON (main plugin) updated successfully, though if you click prior to upgrading on View version 2.2 details, the link generates an error

– EventON - Single Event – An error occurred while updating EventON - Single Event: Update package not available. Still showing in WP Updates section.

For SIngle Event anywhere to upgrade manually? or should we sit tight?

Thanks for the great work

Best regards
Gilbert
