Custom Fields

Hello, 

Is there any way you can make a custom field area accept shortcodes and html? I can use shortcodes within the event details (and it works which is good!) but I would like to 

add some html text into a custom field.

Actually I can add html so forget that part - being able to use shortcodes within a custom field would be great though!
