google groups are nice, but with the nice stackexchange experience it feels a bit simple.

I know what you mean. I'm just trying to fill this group up with some rubbish, so I can test out the search feature.

You can convert to Q&A mode in Settings->Group Settings->Information->Advanced->Reset Group
