I am very excited to get building presentations.  Does anyone know any good sources for free sounds?

I have been googling but a lot of the sources are spam robots or require log in.

thanks for any help

I found great background music sounds here:  http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/index.html?keywords=015&Search=Search

Many free sound effects can be found here:  http://www.freesound.org/

But you will need to process them because most are pure and uncompressed.
Audacity is a great open source audio editor. Export the sounds in mp3 format and compress them so the files become reasonable in size to download and still sound ok.
You may also want to mix down the stereo track to mono. It cuts down on size a lot and for 3D sound effects it won't matter so much.

I hope this helps.

Excellent sources.

Basic question I haven't got too far.

Do the sounds get packaged into the kmz or live outside in a public server?

I am building a library of copyright free sound clips which will be hosted on planetinaction.com. The new editor and the existing code builder will be able to access these clips easily when they are ready.
Dealing with mp3 uploads is risky from a copyright point of view.

Seems like a great idea.  Helpful to a "casual" user too.
