Gym Minyan Inauguration Week

Hello everyone,

This past shabbat was a beautiful week. There were roughly 200 kids in attendance. After services, Rabbi Livian gave a speech enjoyed by all, followed by our ever popular Bistro Burger kiddush. 

This coming shabbat is the annual  Bar/Bar Mitzvah-Inauguration week. It is the most important week of the year. We welcome all bar and bat mitzvah boys and girls to officially join the Gym Minyan. All will receive a plaque honoring this milestone. There will be a grand raffle for all kids as well. We invite all leaders and respective board members to join in the festivities. 

We ask all community publications to please help promote the Inauguration in social media. The flyer is attached. The schedule for the day is: 

9:30 Shacharit 

10:15 Break 

10:30 Auctioning

10:50 Torah

11:30 Musaf 

11:40 Certificate Ceremony

Hi everyone,

We had another great week at the gym minyan. These past two weeks we had between 140-160 kids. We had entenmens  during our break and bistro and iced coffee after minyan. I gave a speech about the importance every member has to be an ambassador to the gym minyan and to get their friends to show up.

We right now are planning many things on the agenda from our high holidays planning to simchat Torah plus some fun things in between.

We have been seeing a slight drop off of attendance from our norms but this usually happens around this time as many students have sports on saturdays and others want a little break before the holiday season.

With that said, would like to make an appeal to all the boards to make sure we are doing our part in letting the parents know how important it isto have their kids go to kanissa every Shabbat. We have to show our kids the importance of being connected to our synagogue and for the kids not to stop showing up at such a young age.

Thank you so much for your report Rabbi.

Actually I had the opportunity to meet the new Board as well as Cody and the Rabbi the other night .. I have to tell you that I think our community is really lucky and blessed to have guys like this who are ready to give up their time and energy to help other kids .

I was really impressed with Mickey ,Nathan and Steven ..I’m more than sure that with the help of the Rabbi and Cody  they will do a great job with the gym Minyan .

Also Rabbi Eli has an amazing idea as how to keep track of the kids who attend and those who don’t show up regularly .i’ll let him explain himself later !

BH I think we are in great hands. 

We also spoke about a Gym Minyan Directors Reunion on a Shabbat ...
