Dear MYC,

As you may know, this year will be the 180 year anniversary of the Allah Dadi. (See below for a brief description of Allah Dadi**)

The History and Heritage committee of UMJCA invites you to a brainstorming meeting and planning program for the occasion.

We plan to have a museum style exhibit at Shaare Shalom, Ohr Esther and Shaare Rachamim.

We ask that as many representatives from the youth committee who can, please join this meeting, to ensure the youth are involved and represented.

This is our timeline -

  • Wednesday, March 27 - Soft opening of the exhibit in all synagogues
  • Saturday March 30 - Shabbat Speeches by the Rabbis
  • Sunday March 31 - Official opening, programs and speeches
  • April 17 (12 Nissan) - Exhibit will end

This planning meeting will be held on Monday January 21, 2019 from 8:30PM - 10:00 PM at Shaare Shalom.

Please confirm your attendance so we can plan accordingly.

Regards,

Heritage Committee of UMJCA

Co-Chairman

Mansour Karimzadeh

**About Alahdadi

Exactly 180 years ago on Wednesday March 27 1839 ( 12 Nissan )

32-39 Jews of Mashhad were killed by the mobs and the entire community was forced to accept Islam.

It was not until 1925 that the community started to openly practice Judaism again.

Hi Mr. Kamali and Mr. Karimzadeh,

I spoke with a group from the myc and we would be honored to join the meeting next Monday night. Thank you both, as well as the rest of this incredible group, for taking action to educate the community and remind all of us of our roots. We are looking forward to contributing in any way we can.

Regards,
Nathan Kashizadeh
