Gym Minyan Update

Hello everyone,

This past Shabbat was a very bittersweet week. We are happy to say that we had over 200 kids in attendance. Services were followed by our ever-popular Bistro Burger kiddush.  We also had a grand raffle which is as popular as ever, and everyone enjoyed. 

This week was also the farewell week for our dear director, Jacob Gorjian (son of Essy and Nasi Gorjian). Rabbi Livian and I introduced Jacob, who gave his farewell speech. 

Over my last few years directing the Gym Minyan, I have never met a person as dedicated as Jacob. I always say, " the less I am doing, the better," and that is because I want the youth, and especially the directors, to gain the leadership skills necessary for careers in community service. Jacob exemplifies this trait. He was so dedicated to making sure our kanissa is full, he became my boss. He would always dedicate as much time as needed for any project he was able to help in, and never expected anything in return. His endless care and energy will be sorely missed, and it will be almost impossible to full the void created with his graduation. 

On behalf of everyone, thank you Jacob. We look forward to seeing your future accomplishments.
