Assalamu alaykum all,
Insh’Allah this e-mail reaches you while you and your families are in the best state of health and Iman.
After a long period of evaluation, consultation, planning and after looking at the bigger picture of the subchapter of MAS Brooklyn and Staten Island considering the vision, goals and needs of the entire subchapter, the MAS Brooklyn and Staten Island BoT, in coordination with the current Executive Director of the subchapter and myself have reached various collective decisions on both the structure and the individuals in charge of certain positions.
In my capacity as, MAS Brooklyn and Staten Island Projects Manager and MAS Youth Center’s Director, I recommended to step down from my position as director of MAS-yc in order to have more focus on the needs of the subchapter as a whole.
As you all know, I would give my life for MAS-yc with all its volunteers, workers and employees, however, the daily operations of the center and the responsibility of communications and conflict resolutions were heavier than anyone could imagine when combined with bigger operational and expansion goals, administrative duties, public and community relations, financial and budget burden and legal issues.
My recommendations were accepted by the MAS Brooklyn and Staten Island Board of Trusties and the following was decided:
1/ Brother Hisham Morgan shall be released from his duties as the director of MASyc effective 12/01/2015.
2/ Sister/ Ayfa Ashraf shall become the new MAS-yc Director and Committees Coordinator (All MAS-yc active committee heads shall report directly to sister Ayfa Ashraf) effective 12/01/2015.
3/ Brother/ Hisham Morgan shall assume his new responsibility as MAS Brooklyn and Staten Island Director of Operations, Finance and Administration effective 12/01/2015.
4/ Sister/ Ahlam Hassan is the MAS Brooklyn and Staten Island Executive Director and she oversees all MAS Brooklyn & Staten Island Departments and Activities.
By Allah, I ask all of you to make Duaa for all the brothers and sisters in the Board of Trusties, our ED, Department heads and in particular for Sister/ Ayfa Ashraf for accepting this tough position.
By Allah, I ask you and to make Duaa for myself and my family, that He may help us carry the new responsibility and serve His Deen with His blessings and to the best of our abilities.
Jazakum Allah khayran and please forgive me for any short comings from my side during my administration.
Hisham Morgan
