Hi Ko Tun,
You have attached MITP site. The MITP site is correct (that is it is
Unicode). However Yayit and ThawayHtoe did not re-order. That would be
a font issue:

a) There is a non AAT font in your system. Possibly Myanmar3. This
should be removed. Masterpiece should be the only Unicode font in your
system.
b) You have a non AAT version of Masterpiece installed in your Mac.

For MyanmarLanguage.org we need to change the CSS to Unicode like Ko
Tun said. Right now it is:
<style type="text/css">
body {
font-family : Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
}
</style>
so we need:
font-family: Myanmar3, Parabaik, Padauk, "WinUni Innwa", "Win
Uni Innwa", "Masterpiece Uni Sans", "MyMyanmar Unicode", Myanmar2;

Ko Mg Mg Thant, can you change that? Thanks.
Kind regards,
Ravi

Hi Ko Ravi and Ko Tun,

I already changed to "font-family:Myanmar3,Parabaik,Padauk,"WinUni Innwa","Masterpiece Uni Sans","MyMyanmar Unicode";". For some limitations in theme, I can't use all the font names, then I removed myanmar2, and Win Uni Innwa.

Please check again, and let me know if the issue still happen.
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks

Best Regards,

Hi Ko Ravi,
I only have Masterpiece unisans, no mm3 nor zawgyi.
pls see the attached.

my findings on mac:
MITP   Safari-OK  Chrome-Not OK   Firefox-OK
ML.org   Safari-NotOK   Chrome-Not OK   Firefox-OK

its seems like we have some teething prob we need to clear before people are trying them out.

btw, any keyboard for Mac?

thanks

Hi Ko Maung Maung Thant,
Can we put approval step for new members?
I am seeing many using  anonymous names (eg. abc ...). This is a SIG and we should know one another with names. Admin approves if proper names, otherwise, message them back.
Thanks

Hi Ko Tun,

Yes, we can change user registration to Admin Approval.
I already changed to that.

For clearly, we may need to show User Registration Guidelines inside the Registration form.

Thanks Ko Maung Maung Thant.
Since one of our core values is transparency, each of us should be open enough to introduce self with actual name instead of online nicks.
I agree we should write some simple guidelines for the new members.
thanks bro

Hi ko mg mg thant,

it still does not work with safari. i can see correctly on title and also when view source.
i saw you change that to body's font face.
but not in span and others.
I still see eg. <span style="font-family:myanmar3;">
Could you use CSS and class so that easier to change all?

Maybe, safari is too sensitive with syntax. could you try moving it infront.
font-family:"Masterpiece Uni Sans", "Myanmar3","Parabaik","Padauk","WinUni Innwa","MyMyanmar Unicode";

thanks

Hi Ko Tun,

I already updated the CSS, bro.
Please check again and let me know wheter OK or not.

Some span tags are written by individual authors and they are included in the posts.
So they may still have the issue.

Thanks bro.
now, I got the headings correctly displayed. so safari is too sensitive
but you are right, i think author hard coded the font face with mm3, thats why cant display right on mac. need to edit the contents

Mg Mg San, are you still there? :)
Could we also come up with  Zawgyi 2011, since it is open source.
make it 100% complient to 5.2 and provide user
1) font (both for mac and pc)
2) KB , we can use ko ravis
3) Support and download links. Educational/Persuasive Ads,

BTW, I cant read our site with safari and chrome on mac. ok with MITP. :(

Hi Ko Tun,
I'm not sure about Zawgyi being opensource.

1) No Zawgyi official page referred to Zawgyi as opensource.
2) Arthouse claimed that they own copyright of the font shape of Zawgyi since it was from one of the font in Arthouse font package. Computer journal also claimed that they own the
copyright too. So it's complicated and dangerous to carry on developing Zawgyi as third party.
3) Padauk-Zawgyi is Unicode compliant already and is usable on Windows and Linux. But I'm going to take down the site bcoz of Zawgyi's unclear license.

Mg Sun

Ko MMT, can you contact Ko Ravi? I think he's also trying to organize a Unicode support team.

Hi bro,

I think Ko Ravi is inside the mmlg google group list. If he is in the list, he also will receive our conversations. Now I'm writing some conversion methods for both Beginners and Experts. I will publish very soon.

Dear All,

Is it possible or legal, if we provide a Unicode Font Pack (collections of Myanmar Unicode Fonts in GPL licenses) to download from MMLG website. Then no body need to go individual websites for font download. Please suggest more, for this idea. Thanks

Best Regards,
MMThant

P.S -

Uncode Conversion Volunteer Project is now starting with a well known Myanmar website with the contact from Ko Maung Maung San. The process is 80% done already. We just need to test on the live site.

Now I'm the only contributor of the team. :) Welcome to everyone to join the team. Thanks.

Why not we put up a list of those websites that are in Unicode transition in MyanmarLanguage.org? It will help us promote our drive and more sites will join by knowing the trend.

Thanks,

OFL has the most freedom for a redistribution of fonts. All Unicode fonts have OFL applied except for Myanmar3. Yunghkio needs to set a license. I already sent mail to Sai Zin Di Di Zone for that. No reply yet.

Hi Ko Chit,

It is a nice idea.

I will create a list that show the sites using Unicode, and also provide link submission feature for public.

So the site owners, bloggers can easily submit their sites. We also can check their site, approve and publish on MMLG.

Dear All,

The following is - the Proposal of Link Submission form for Websites Using Unicode in MMLG.

We will collect the following data.
    For Public View - Website Name, URL, Category (News, Personal blog, IT, Social Network, Entertainment etc)
    For Our Administration - Submitter Name, Email address
    For Security - Captcha
    Workflow -
    1. All the submissions will come to the site as draft after a user submit a link.
    2. An email will send to some authorized user group, that can approve the submission
    3. The site is approved by an authorized person then automatically updated to the list.

Please give some feedback & suggestions before I can proceed. Thanks

Best Regards
MMThant
