Minutes for meeting: 5/14/2011

1- Tutoring (Abby)

• Will be for three weeks/every weekend in June, regents are at the end of June.
• Make announcement at POK + flier 
• Tutors are confirmed.

2- Brothers Activity (Malik and Kamran)

• Activity this month: Saturday May 21st
• billiards near Bay Ridge or near the center
• Need to do research/ call them to make reservations for tables
• Malik- Make a flier 

3- Pearls of Knowledge (Ayfa)

• Current series: Dating, Drugs & Rock n Roll.

                May 20th and 27th: Drugs // June 3rd and 10th: music

• Ideas for next series: Salah, Gems of Quran, using small clips from Sheikh suhaib webb and Siraj Wahaj
• Need to make a committee:  (1) Setting up, (2) serving pizza, (3) Projector
• Need to find a replacement for Rami on June 3rd

4- Picnic: June 12th

• Musjid MCC will be put in charge of the youth program.
• We might need to get a bus.

5. Prom: June 26th

• Qamr, Beanie and Ymna are working on it , update needed from them.
• $40 entrance fee
• We have a $500 budget for food, decor, etc.
• Ideas: Academic advisement, graduation themed.

6. Pre-Ramadan Event: July 23rd

• Maggie + her committee will be working on it, nothing confirmed as of now

7. Sisters Activity

• Replacement: Ymna (?)

8. Brother Bash

• Should be simple, maybe just a dinner 
• Put Rami's Usra in charge of it

9. Arabic and Quran classes

• Teachers confirmed, sister Somaya and Nada Negm
• 14+ , every Monday, will begin in July insha'Allah

10. Brother Kamran:

• Submit a proposal for the gym 
• Ideas with regards to the gym: youth center ID's, must be in halaqa/per week.
