Since MLO 5 I have been manually ordering my To-Do list.

In the latest version (6) I noticed that once I close the application and re-open it, my  To-Do list is alphabetically sorted. All the hard work in deciding an order is lost!

There used to be a setting for leaving the To-Do list order to be manual, but I can no longer find it. Nevertheless, I am still able to manually order it, so I guess the option still exists somewhere, but I cannot find it.

When I go to Tools -> Preferences -> To-Do ordering options, I see the order is set to be done by "importance and urgency". However, it does not seem that the To-Do list is being sorted in that manner. It's either manual, or alphabetically when I re-start the application.

How can I manually order my To-Do list and ensure that the order is preserved even when the application is closed and re-opened?

A manual sorting setting is located here:

You can also save the view for quick access later.

That is not the reason. I have manual sorting selected (I don't think I would be able to manually sort, like I described I do, without that being selected).

The problem is that when my computer crashes and I reopen MLO, the manual sorting I have done is lost and tasks are sorted alphabetically.

We haven't been able to reproduce the problem, the manual sorting is preserved as expected when closing and re-opening the application. Make sure you don't accidentally click on the name of a view. In that case it sorts alphabetically, and it can be detected by an asterisk before the view name. Do you see the asterisk when the tasks are sorted alphabetically? If so, you can press 'Discard changes' and it will restore the correct ordering.

If that's not the case, please send us the following to sup...@mylifeorganized.net:

- your view. To export a view, right click on the name of the view in the list and select "Export View" -> Enter a file name
- logs after the issue occurred: menu Tools- >Options- >Troubleshooting->Check all logs -> Export Logs- >Send a received archive to MLO support.

Thank you.

Thank you. I realize this is unusual and not the typical use case, but I am seeing the resorting when the application crashes (because my laptop has been crashing often).

If I terminate the application normally, indeed things work fine.

Perhaps you can reproduce if you crash the app or the computer.

When that happens, I don't have the "Discard changes" option.

Thanks again.
