Hello, I would like a feature that would help me to have better and
quicker orientation in the outline.

It would be good to have top parents in the outline as kind of tabs,
and in these tabs then have trees like the current outline. You will
understand this when you look on this picture

http://h2.mysteria.cz/listpro_task.jpg

I used to use listpro as my task manager and it was very easy to
navigate between top levels (projects, someday, reference, templates
etc.) In MLO when I want to go to reference, or templates etc. real
quick, and I have the outline expanded it takes a while to find the
right spot. I know there is bookmarks and zooming but I dont think I
can keep that many shortcuts in my head anymore:-) And I also know
that this is what helped me a lot in listpro.. Does anyone have the
same Idea?

YES!!!!!!

There was an old feature request with a similar idea but you have
included an image.

[ I think this came up a few times before - a quick search yielded
this result http://groups.google.com/group/myLifeOrganized/browse_thread/thread/1c05cdf58b77718b
] I hope there are more votes for this.

But <Inbox> should be included in all tabs.

- 1 ... unless it's an additional option and you could also keep the
outline the way it is right now.

The idea is, that in every "tab" you would actually have a separate
outline (tasks from all outlines would go to todo list of course). In
your case, you would just use only one "tab" and you could hide the
"tab pane" just like you can the outline pane today (just by draging
the boarder line to the left)

Alternatively I view each tab as a simple 'container' where items can
be thrown and an outline does not have to exist except for projects/
tasks with multiple steps.

So rather than the current process of recreating containers in the
current outline there is a nice quick navigation to the areas. I'm
thinking of it as a better organized file system.

Time savings, easier to navigate (my opinion), no more hide only this
task because of its status as a 'placeholder' in the outline, . . . .

Yes, I think this would improve the usability of MLO tremendously.
Please add this!

Here is my visualization for this idea:

In this screenshot, the top level parent "Scheduled Projects" is
selected. The other selector switches between traditional "view all
parents view" and currently selected "focus on parent" view.
