In regards to a project, how can I associate emails to a particular
project for reference? Also, what about files? This would be great
in order to have everything in one place for projects.

Thanks

Brad,

I do this a lot. the easiest ways are:
1) Use the notes area for the top task that holds all the project and
subproject tasks.
2) Put "mailto:" before the email address you enter for a hot link
3: Right click on "Insert link to a file" to go to hot link to key
files
4) To hot link to a folder, insert a hot link to a file in the folder,
and then delete the filename from the link. This will just open the
folder.
5) If you useOneNote, paste in the link from onenote and place "file:"
in front of it.

This will give you a command list of all the files, emails you need
for the project. I also include phone numbers so I have it all right
there.

Still have a question regarding the emails...

So, say I get a handful of emails in relation to a particular
project... how do I get those in the notes field in MLO so there's a
direct link? Seems like there's something I'm missing. Thanks for
the help.

Seems like the best feature would be a drag and drop from outlook into
MLO notes, for both emails AND files.

Brad

Make MLO is in the outline view.

Hold down your left mouse key button & Drag the email header down to
the MLO task button.

This will change your view to MLO.

Then drag the mouse up to where you would like the link to be.

You will now have a link in the notes section to the relevant email.

Cheers

I tried that... it only pastes the text, not a link... below is the example. Please advise.

Thats wierd.

I am using Vista Bus SP1, Outlook 03, & latest version of mlo.

It always adds a link into the notes for me.

My email is stored locally [pop3], not imap, maybe this is the
difference?

maybe someone else can shed some light?

I do have the updated version of MLO, as well as outlook 2003 exchange
server.... if anyone could help re: this and tying in files and emails
to a particular project, that would be HUGE AND HIGHLY
APPRECIATED! :) It's a major missing link for me right now.

Brad,

You should drag your emails to *outline* not to the *notes*.

1) Hold down your left mouse key button & Drag the email header from
Outlook.
2) While dragging switch to MLO by Alt+Tab
3) Drop the e-mail to the MLO Outline (not to the notes)

A subtask will be added to MLO and you will now have a link in the
notes section of this subtask to the relevant email.
