MLO - purchase now or wait until 2.0 ?

I am receiving many questions like this on support:

I tried the trial version of the MLO software and am very excited
about it, but am worried about purchasing it only to have version 2.0
be released soon afterwards. I understand that beta 4 of 1.9 is
already out, so I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and purchase
it now, or wait until the next major release.

Let me clarify the things.
1) There will be versions 1.10, 1.11 etc in the nearest months.
2) There is no reason to procrastinate purchasing now since those who
purchase MLO now will NOT pay for upgrade to ver. 2.0.

Q: If I purchase a license should I pay for updates?
A: Along with a license to use the software you will receive free
updates of MyLife Organized to all new minor updates. For major
updates (2.x, 3.x etc,) there will be upgrade fee.
IMPORTANT: Anyone that bought the full (professional) version would
get free upgrade to *all* new updates (including major) released
within 12 months from the date of their purchase. It means that you
will *not* pay for ANY upgrades for at least 12 months.
