How do I stop MLO audio and the ridiculous notification when I check something off

Those settings are in the the "Triggers and Actions" section of the program options.

Yes, the sound is a part of the 'Triggers and Actions' feature. To turn it off, please open menu Tools-> Options -> Triggers and Actions-> Triggers and Actions Rules-> Edit -> Delete Action:
