I must say I'm a bit confused between what seems to be MLO definition
of Smartphone vs PPC. Is that HTC Diamond a Smartphone or PPC?

The reason I ask is that I can't seem to be able to install MLO-PPC on
my device. I get the following error:
"Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be
installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions."
Do I get this because it's a Smartphone? Because I've read people
being able to install MLO-PPC on a treo-pro, which uses Windows Mobile
6.1 Professionnal just like the HTC Diamond.

Any idea?

In terms of MLO this is simple - it needs to have a touchscreen, which for Windows 6.1 means the professional edition and in any case the Diamond is definitely a PPC and I'm fairly certain you'll find Diamond users in here somewhere.

No - this is almost certainly something specific to the configuration of your device, its been tweaked in some respect to restrict installation though I couldn't tell you how... note that its possible to apply policies to Windows Mobile devices attached to a corporate network (i.e. to exchange server) that place constraints and requirements on the phone.

Unfortunately, it is also possible to provision or restrict these
policies at the cell phone provider level as well. Qwest did this with
my phone (but fortunately, they botched it and I was able to remove
the restriction policy).

You can use this tool from MS to at least examine and possibly backup
and change the policy. Changing again depends on how locked down it
is. It can be very restrictive.

Finaly, I tryed with my cousin who has the same phone with the same
provider and it worked like a charm. So I hard-reset mine and
everything was fine.
