Treasure Bars
Heat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a jelly roll pan.
Combine:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup margarine
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
Stir in:
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup maraschino cherries (drained and chopped)
1 cup salted peanuts (chopped)
Put in pan and bake 25-30 minutes.
Icing:
2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 TBS margarine (softened)
2-3 TBS milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 square melted baker's chocolate
Spread icing over warm bars, drizzle melted chocolate. Cool and cut
into
bars. Makes 3 dozen. Do not freeze, store in an airtight
container.
