Hi,
I have a Japanese imported 2016 leaf in Australia. I cannot connect to the Nissan app. Is there a way I can use your app for remote climate control and battery status?

Thank you,
Anthony

Hello Anthony,

Thanks for writing!

Are you able to use the official app? I'm not entirely sure about Japanese imported cars and how they work with the API/apps or if they are supported at all.

You must also remember that you need to have a NissanConnect subscription to use My Leaf or the official app. When you buy a new car you get 3 years subscription with the car.

Perhaps the best option, if possible, is to contact a local Nissan dealer. I do know that the 3G connectivity is not the same in all countries, but it might be something as simple as the dealer changing a SIM card in the system - but this is pure speculation.

Excellent input! SIM card could definitely be a problem.

The API (old and new) should be supported for Japanese vehicles.
