Hello everyone! I read a lot about the opportunity to get Lithuanian citizenship by roots, but did not fully understand the process itself. Write about some stages, archival searches, confirmation of emigration. If someone has passed, tell in human language what really starts and what to expect in time.

At first I also thought that everything was complicated. But in fact, the main thing is to gather initial information about relatives. Even if you don’t have all the documents, you can get the data in the archives. It took me about 10 months. The best thing is that you can live and work in any EU country.

The process is easier than it seems. First, they make a free assessment. Then the specialists restore citizenship, and after that you can get a passport. Everything is clearly signed in the lithuanian passport - especially useful if you have few documents. They help to find archives and arrange everything correctly.
