Momentum Oscillator — useful or just noise?

I keep seeing people talk about the Momentum Oscillator, but I still don’t get why it matters. I trade Forex on H1 and H4. Sometimes the indicator moves fast, sometimes it feels late. I mostly use price action and one moving average. Is Momentum really giving extra value, or is it just another line that looks smart on the chart?

I use it mostly as a warning tool. When price keeps pushing but Momentum flattens, I get cautious. It saved me from holding too long many times. I agree it’s not for scalping. On higher timeframes it feels calmer and more honest.
