Hi friends,

I hope all of you are happy and comfortable in your respective places.

As you all know, our department is planning to felicitate Dr. CR on the occasion of his superannuation.

The felicitation function will be held on February 5, 2013 (on Tuesday).

Are there any one who is interested in attending the function?

Shall we present him with some thing to show our gratitude towards him?

(This has already been discussed in Facebook I guess)

We have raised some money for giving a gift to CR. I don't know if you have any plans. We can contribute if you have already decided something. 1 possible that we could think of was a book about the history of science or nuclear physics or particle physics

I think I missed the fund raising campaign. But any how, I am ready to contribute now, (if there is a provision). But when can we present the gift to him?

This is the money from our last charity campaign.

I propose that you buy the gift(so that you can also contribute) and I transfer the money to you ( which can be up to 5000Rs )..

What do you say?

Is there any time limit to buy it? I am little busy till Feb 20. I can buy after it.

Next time when I go to Mysore, I'll present the gift to Prof.CR.

Hi

If I remember correctly CR sir said he will be office till end of the month. Anyway he will be visiting the department regularly and he will have his office. May be its better to take prior appointment from him to make sure he is in office when you go to visit him.

Have you decided when to meet Prof. CR ?..

I just got reminded about this. We have to decide on what should we gift him.

I guess we all agreed that we would gift him a book or something. Do we have a consensus on that? .. If so please propose some books.

I propose two books

This is rather symbolic :). It has nothing got to do with any Physics ..

I thought to attend his function, but I could not go to Mysore because of some pressing assignment in the office.
