Good Morning,

The Chicago Games has announced that they will be offering a Grade 1 contest at their event on June 16-17, 2023. They will be offering prizes as follows:

1st $3000

2nd $2000

3rd $1000

4th $500

The Grade 1 bands, like the Grades 2 and 3 bands will play both a MSR and Medley during the day. There will also be no concert formation for any of the bands in 2023. All events will be held in the traditional circle format. The Grade 1 and 2 contest will be adjudicated by 4 Piping, 2 Drumming, and 2 Ensemble Judges for each event. Grade 3 is still being looked at. As in the past, all of the solo events will be held on the Friday and all of the band events will be held on the Saturday. All of the North American Grade 1 bands have been contacted to notify them of this news.

The Chicago Games had the largest pipe band contest in North America in 2022. Adjudicators in 2022 represented 6 different Pipe Band Associations including the RSPBA. The plan is the same for 2023.
