[[File:]] objects float right, <div>s do not

Hello

I've mostly got the hang of rendering PDFs here but... 

While [[Image]] and [[File]] objects with captions will float:right correctly, *nothing* else does.  I've tried using DIV and TABLE in my {{Sidebar|Title|Content}} template, and even using the same CSS classes as the Image sidebars use themselves. Creating the template as Template:Templatename/Print has no effect

Clearly RL *can* float items right, because the thumbnail boxes work.

What am I missing?

I'll settle for *any* known trick to let me push a defined block of
text into a floated box like the ones that are supported for
thumbnails...

Hi John,

unfortunately there probably is no solution for your problem. Floating
is only supported for images. Depending on what you exactly want to
achieve using tables might be an option.
